Each year, coaches from their respective areas select players for inclusion on one of the the All Area Teams. The 1st Team is intended to be a representation of the 12 best players from the area, along with Player of the Year and the 2nd Team consists of runners up for 1st Team consideration. Be it the 1st or 2nd team, inclusion on these lists is deserving of recognition.
The Lady Bears Volleyball Team has had a number of players recognized for the All Area teams in year's past and 2016 proved to be no exception. The Cambridge Athletic Department wishes to congratulate seniors Regan Swift, Lauren Swift and junior Sterling Hines, for their selection to the All Area 1st Team! In addition, congratulations go out to Anna Youngs for her selection to the All Area 2nd Team!
Finally, we take this opportunity to congratulate the entire Cambridge Bears Volleyball Team for overcoming the loss of injured outside hitter Ellah Klinnert to finish in 4th place in the 6A, Area 7 Tournament and for qualifying for the State Tournament.
The Lady Bears defeated Mundy's Mill in the first match of the 6A State Tournament Thursday, October 13th —25-12, 25-13, 25-6— to advance to the Sweet 16.
The next match on their slate will be against Gainesville High School, Wednesday, October 19, at 6:00, up in Gainesville. A victory will advance the Lady Bears to the Elite 8. Come cheer your Lady Bears on as they, once again, take their shot at winning a state title on behalf of Cambridge High School!
