Cambridge Varsity Volleyball Splits with North Atlanta and Alpharetta in Area Play, Tuesday, Sept. 6th

vs. North Atlanta

The Lady Bears struggled to find any rhythm against North Atlanta in the first set of play. In a back-n-forth battle --right to the very end -- Cambridge managed to pull off the win 25-23.

In the second set, Cambridge found its rhythm, defeating North Atlanta in dominant fashion by a score of 25-11.

vs. Alpharetta

One of the Bear's key rivals, Alpharetta had beaten Cambridge two weeks earlier and the Bears were looking for revenge.

In the first set, the Bears coming out on top 25-23. While the second set appeared to be following a similar track, the Bears stumbled on a series of unforced errors, handing the set to Alpharetta 27-25. It was now up to the tie-breaker to determine the winner.

Alpharetta took an early lead as Cambridge continued the unforced errors that cost them the previous set. But the Bears did not give up, gradually closing the gap. In the end, the Lady Bears put up a good fight, but were unable to overcome the early deficit. Alpharetta held on to win the match in 3 (25-23,25-27,20-25).

Cambridge is now 14-9 on the season and 3-1 in area play. The Lady Bears get ready for South Forsyth and Brookwood at South Forsyth High School this Thursday, September 8th.
