Lady Bears Varsity Soccer Fall to Dunwoody in Final Regional Game, Tuesday, April 16th

The Lady Bears came into Dunwoody determined to dominate the last game of the season, Tuesday, April 16th. Ella Ciardullo led the charge with eight shots on goal while keeper Abby Fields answered back with eight saves against the Wildcats.

Both teams exchanged scoring opportunities in the first half with the Bears' offense and defense holding off the Wildcats with multiple aggressive drives down the field.

With the score tied at 0-0, the second half of the match between Cambridge and Dunwoody felt like the playoffs. A hard-fought half ended with the Bears pulling out all the stops fouling twice just outside their own 18-yard line during the last minutes of the game leading into overtime.

With no success in finding the net for either team in overtime, the game went into penalty kicks. In the end, Dunwoody stole the win by scoring three penalty kicks over the Bears at two. As one fan said at the end of the game, "You can't get any closer than that!"

Congratulations to the Lady Bears for a truly successful season (9-6). Best wishes to seniors Hannah Behner, Emma Floum, Delaney Goodell and Cat Powers on their high school achievements and future college endeavors.

Go Bears!
