Cambridge Swimmer Sophie Brison Receives All American Honors

Cambridge Swimmer Sophie Brison Receives All American Honors

At the state meet on February 5th, sophomore Sophie Brison once again had an outstanding performance that earned her All American automatic status. In the 200-yard individual medley, Brison swam a whopping 2:00.44, which is more than a second faster than the automatic All-American qualifying time. Her time earned her second place overall at the state meet and also a new state record, replacing her record she set just last season. Additionally, Brison clocked a time of 54.76 in the 100-yard backstroke, an automatic All-American qualifying time. Brison took second overall in the event at state and holds the school record for the event.

Brison's swimming accolades are not over for 2021. In June, Brison will head to Omaha to compete in the Olympic Trials for the Tokyo Olympics in the 200-meter backstroke event to compete to be one of the top three that will represent the United States.

We are so proud and excited for her and she will hear our cheers all the way from Atlanta this summer! We look forward to seeing what Brison will do with the next half of her career at the Bridge.

Congratulations, Sophie!
