Cambridge Tennis Program Celebrates Another Successful Year

The 2016 Cambridge Bears Girls and Boys tennis teams celebrated another successful year at the end of year banquet Sunday, May 15, at the Crooked Creek Golf Club.

During the banquet, each of the coaches had an opportunity to talk about season highlights, team personality, individual and team accomplishments. The Girls JV Coach Amey Rishel talked about the teams improvement and team approach to the program. Varsity Girls Coach Schultz talked about the stellar team results but emphasized confidence and "fun quotient" the girls brought to the table. Varsity Boys Coach Chris Feldman, who announced earlier that this would be his last year coaching, emphasized the high effort of each of the players and strong results . He thanked his three (4) year senior starters for their play and dedication to the program.  Chris'  leadership with the boys program will be missed.

Individual award highlights were as follows:

JV Girls

  • Bear Award-  Grace Parzych

Varsity Girls

  • Bear Award - Aimee Dervishian
  • Bear Award - Hanna Giddings

JV Boys

  • Bear Award – Christian Romano
  • Coaches Award - Michael Wallace

Varsity Boys

The Region Champion Bears graduate five senior players across the varsity teams, three of which will go on to play college tennis (Aimee Dervishian, Paige DeLaPerriere, and Carson Harrell). That leaves a big group of very talented underclassman plus a new incoming crop of talent to build on a program with a strong tennis performance and a reputation for good sportsmanship.

Congratulations to All and GO BEARS!
