Cambridge Boys Tennis Advances to 3rd Round of GHSA State Playoffs

The  Cambridge Boys tennis team advanced to the third round of state playoffs with a win over a feisty team from Coffee High School in a 3-1 closeout, Monday, April 25th

The win for the Bears was secured by continued excellent play from Drew Fruehauf at line 2 singles, Zac Hirschler & Joey Ladaga at 1 dubs and Kez Fitzgerald and Jason Weiner at line 2 dubs.  Carson Harrell lost at line 1 to a very talented tennis player.  Ryan Edmiston dropped the first set at line 3 Singles but had considerable momentum well into the second set before the victory for the team was secured.

The win for the Bears sends them to the quarterfinals and sets up a re-match of last year's semifinal match at Starrs Mill, Wednesday, April 27th at 4:00pm.

Both teams are largely intact from last year and should provide fertile ground for excellent tennis.  Home or away was determined with a coin flip as the two teams are #1 seed within their regions.

Go Bears!
