Varsity Boy's Tennis Shuts Out Peachtree Ridge 5-0

Varsity Boy's Tennis Shuts Out Peachtree Ridge 5-0

Cambridge Boys tennis scored a hard fought 5-0 win against the Lions of Peachtree Ridge on Monday afternoon, March 7th at Sugarloaf CC.

Carson Harrell (1S) played one of his best matches of the year winning in two sets.  Carson was consistent from the baseline against his hard hitting opponent and picked  his moments to come to net to put away the point with a smart volley or overhead.

Drew Fruehauf banged his way to a win from the baseline in a 1,1 victory. Drew had a couple of net approaches but did most of his damage forcing errors from the baseline.  Finally, Josh Wills closed out wins at all 3 singles lines with his strong serves.

On the doubles side of the ledger, Zac Hirschler and Joey Ladaga won a third set tie breaker 8-6 to gain the win in a very well played one doubles match. Countering an incredibly strong serve from their opponents, the Bears 1 doubles team came back from a first set loss with strong serves of their own from Zac and effective backhand groundies from Joey to gain the win.

Once again, Kez Fitzgerald and Jason Weiner at 2 doubles made quick work of their opponents in two sets.  Jason was very effective again with his crisp volley winners and Kez put pressure on the Lions with his consistent play and overheads.

Next up the Bears are away at North Atlanta on Tuesday, March 8th and  home on Thursday, March 10th against North Springs.

Go Bears!
