Cambridge Boys Varsity tennis team earned a 4-1 win against the West Forsyth Wolverines on a spectacular Monday afternoon for tennis.
Carson Harrell again drew tough competition at the 1 Singles line and, despite a strong ground stroke game from both the forehand and 2-handed backhand side, lost in 2 sets. Drew Fruehauf (2S) won in a well played 2 set match. Drew was very consistent from the baseline, hitting several down the line winners. Josh Wills (3S) also won in two sets, serving especially well.
Zac Hirschler/Kez Fitzgerald (1S) played well together winning their match in 2 sets. Kez continues to play steady tennis and putting away his overheads and Zac had a nice all court game from the baseline and at net.
Finally, Ryan Edmiston/Jason Weiner (2D) won their match in 2 sets as well. Ryan served well with power and placement and Jason ended points decisively with crisp volleys at the net.
All in all, a good win against a strong 6A opponent. Next up for the Bears this week is Forsyth Central on Tuesday, March 1st at home and away at Kell on Thursday, March 3rd.
Go Bears!
