Boys Varsity Tennis Drops Match to Marist, Rebound with Win Over Sprayberry
Bears vs. Marist - 3/24/15

Joey Ladaga (3S) and Brenner Lapid/David Ashcom (2D) both fought hard for their 3 set victories on Tuesday afternoon, March 24th against Marist but the team fell just short of winning the overall match 2-3 on a Tuesday afternoon of high quality tennis.

Carson Harrell  (1S) fell to a very talented player  4 & 1 , in a match that featured long rallies.  The first set lasted over  an hour with both players hammering baseline shots.

At the 2 Singles line, Drew Fruehauf battled back in the 2nd set to get to 5 games but fell just short of capitalizing on the momentum to take it to a 3rd set.  Joey Ladaga's victory again came on his consistent play and capitalizing on some unforced errors from his opponent.

Meanwhile, in doubles action,  Zac Hirschler/Kez Fitzgerald came up short in their match 0  & 4.  After unforced errors led to a slow start in the first set , the duo battle back in the 2nd  before losing serve and the match.

At 3 doubles, Brenner Lapid and David Ashcom outlasted their opponents  to win in 3.  They won the first set,  dropped the 2nd in a tie-break and won the  3rd set.     There were  great volleys on both sides of the net and  some exciting second chance points won during their match.
