Cambridge Boys Varsity Tennis Adds Two More Region Wins

Cambridge vs. North Springs - Thurs. March 12th

The Bears Varsity Boys Tennis team added another region win over the Spartans of North Springs on Thursday, March 12, winning 4-1.  This marks the Bears  3rd region win in as many matches.

At 1 singles, Carson Harrell battled a tough opponent and came up just short, dropping a first set tiebreak after some equipment issues.  At 2 singles, Joey Ladaga continues to play lights out tennis in his straight set 0 & 0 win.  Jason Weiner dropped only 1 game on the way to a victory at line 3 singles. 

The senior doubles team of David Ashcom and Grant Hollingsworth dominated their opponents losing just 2 games at 1 doubles.  That performance was matched at the 2 line by Ryan Edmiston and Zac Hirschler.

The team was just able to get the match in as rain came down on the final point of the match. 

Next up for the Bears will be Riverwood on Tuesday, March 17, at Cambridge st 4:00 p.m., while the Bears take to the court at Sprayberry on Thursday, March 19, at 4:00 p.m.

Cambridge vs. North Atlanta - Tues. March 10th

Cambridge Boys Varsity team picked up another region win over the North Atlanta Warriors, winning 5-0.

Squeezing this match in on Tuesday evening March 10, the singles lines of Carson Harrell, Joey Ladaga and Drew Freuhoff won their matches easily with killer serves.

The 1 doubles line of Zac Hirschler and Kez Fitzgerald polished off their opponents only allowing one game before closing it out. 

Likewise, the 2 doubles line of David Ashcom and Brenner Lapid won their matches convincingly.
