Men's Tennis Team Drops Close Match to Pope, Tues. March 11th

Cambridge Men's Tennis Team lost to the Greyhounds from Pope in a close, hard fought match 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon March 11th.  The match was even throughout the afternoon  and was not decided with just a few key points.  

Cambridge won both doubles lines.  Line 1 double team of Michael Feirer/David Ashcom had a strong outing in beating a talented 1 doubles team in two sets with the match ending appropriately on a service ace from David Ashcom.  Line 2 doubles team of Brenner Lapid/Kez Fitzgerald grinded their way to a 3 set victory 7-6, 3-6, 6-4.  The match saw many long rallies with exciting volleys. 

The Bears dropped 3 singles lines despite strong play from Freuhauf, Harrell & Armstrong. Drew Freuhauf and Jack Armstrong fought hard in two set matches while Carson Harrell battled 3 sets before losing the final set 4-6 in a close 2 ½ hour match.

The loss drops the Bears record to 3-2 in the region. 

Next up for Cambridge is Sequoyah at home on Thursday, March 13th and a make-up match with Osborne at home on Friday, March 14th.
