Cambridge Boys Golf Finishes 2nd in Grizzly Classic, Saturday, March 19th

The Cambridge boys golf team participated in two events this past Friday and Saturday. The Georgia-South Carolina Cup at Alpharetta Athletic Club - East Course and the Grizzly Classic at Woodmont site of the Region Championship in April.

Georgia - South Carolina Cup

Team Georgia defeated Team South Carolina for the first time in two years by 28 shots. Cambridge finished 5th overall (team scores below)and Brad Plaziak and Andrew Ackerman both contributed to the Georgia team score both days of the competition.  Cambridge scores; Brad Plaziak 75-72,  Andrew Ackerman 74-75, Robbie Bentley 76-77, Austin Redick 79-84 and Austin Stachowski 85-87. 

Grizzly Classic

The Bears also participated in the Creekview Grizzly Classic at Woodmont Golf Club (site of region). The boys finished tied for first with Creekview at 306, however they lost on the first playoff hole to capture the second place trophy. The team was led by freshman Jack Vajda who shot 72, Jack was also the Low Medalist for the tournament.

Cambridge scores; Matthew Leemann 77, Ryan Demit 78, Robert Berman 79, Mark Long 82, Sutton Dunwoodie 83. Blake Kollin shot 77 (he played as an individual and his score did not count toward the team score). Great job by the boys.

The Bears next event is The Champions at Ansley at Settindown Golf Club on Wednesday, March 23rd.
