Hoops for the Holidays

The Cambridge varsity boys and girls basketball teams will see plenty of action over the next week.  Both teams travel to South Paulding High School tonight to take on the Spartans.  Tip off is 6:00 p.m. for the girls and 7:30 p.m. for the boys.

The varsity teams will also hit the road Saturday, November 22, for the Tabo Tip-Off  Classic in Jefferson.  The girls will get things started against the Dragons at 7:00p.m. at Jefferson High School, while the boys tip off at 8:30 p.m.  Play will resume next Tuesday, November 24, and again the following Saturday, November 29.

Earlier this week, Tuesday, November 18, both varsity teams traveled to Northview High School.  The girls had a tough loss to the Titans, 45-25, putting their record at 1-1.

The boys varsity team also took on the Titans in a great game and came out with a 57-42 victory.  Coach Chip Flemmer says Emerson McClung led the Bears' offensive attack by scoring a Cambridge single-game record of 32 points!  "The Bears are focusing on being a tough, defensive team and did a really good job meeting that goal against the Titans.  The Bears now have a record of 1-1 as head into tonight's action in Douglasville, " says Flemmer.

Be sure to come out and support your Cambridge Bears during the Thanksgiving break, and mark you calendars for Friday, December 12, as we will have some special events for our junior bears and middle school students.

Go Bears!!
