Cambridge Community Raises Over $9,000.00 for Coach Scott

People came together in a big way Friday, October 26th to see the last home football game at Cambridge Stadium.  They also opened up their pocketbooks to help a very special coach and his family.  Collection buckets were placed throughout the stadium and at the concession stand, and Cambridge lacrosse players collected money throughout the evening.  When it was all counted, the generous donations amounted to just over $8,000.00.

The next day, the Cambridge 7th grade feeder football team donated its gate receipts and concession collections of  $1,500.00.  All of the money will be given to the family of Coach Mike Scott.

Milton assistant battling stage IV cancer

Milton offensive line and strength coach Mike Scott was diagnosed with cancer this month and given six to eight months to live.

Several fundraising efforts have been planned throughout the Milton community and in Fulton County to help with medical costs, including the sale of "Lift Up Coach Scott" wrist bands for $5 at Milton High School.

Coach Scott has stage IV Adenocarcinoma that began in his pancreas and spread to his liver and lungs.

He and his wife, Mary Jane, have two kids, Abby and Anthony.  Coach Mike had been in the hospital for days but is currently back home in Canton.  Several close friends and family have flown in from across the country to help the family.

The Scott family is trying to raise funds to help cover medical expenses at this difficult time. If you would like to donate, go to www.giveforward.com/miracleformike.
