Lauryn Martin made her mark in Cambridge High School volleyball history last month when she collected her 1,000th career assists.

 

"I knew I was close but didn't know it would happen that day," said Martin, who is a senior and setter on the varsity volleyball team. "I was so surprised when we took a timeout in the middle of a game and started celebrating. I thought it was for a teammate's put away down the line."

 

She gives a lot of credit to her passers for getting her the ball so she can set it and her hitters for being able to put the ball away.

 

The Lady Bears were away when she collected assist number 1,000 at the 2023 Georgia Challenge Tournament at Woodstock High School. The team also finished Runner-Up.
