Congratulations to the Cambridge Girls Golf team for capturing their second consecutive Region Championship Thursday, April 24th at Bentwater Country Club in impressive fashion.
They defeated runner–up Creekview HS by 30 shots 225-255.
The team was led by Region Medalist Junior Payton Schanen who shot a one over par 73. Juniors Sabrina Long (74) and Rachel Dai (78) also were named to the All-Region Team along with Schanen. Junior Tiffany Elam (83) finished 6th overall, Freshman Heather Kipniss was the alternate.
The Girls qualify for the GHSA State Tournament to be held Monday, May 19th at Jones Creek CC in Augusta, GA. They will join the Cambridge Boys golf team at the State Tournament, who also play Monday the 19th at Bartram Trail in Augusta.
