Cambridge is currently in 4th place in their AAAAA Region 7A bracket, (1-2, 2-5) ahead of Forsyth Central and North Springs (0-3, 1-6). A win on Oct. 25th would secure a spot in the play-in round, (crossover games) to determine state playoff qualifiers.
The Bears can't go in assuming they will win. North Springs is a stronger team this year than last year when the Bears beat them 45-13. The Spartans lost last week to Northview HS 42-7, but their time of possession exceeded Northview's considerably with 21:39 vs. 16:18..so they didn't give in easily. North Springs previously lost to Sequoyah (2-1 ,5-2) in a close game 36-27.
In last Friday's close game against Creekview, the Bears had 236 passing yards by QB Brian Moore and 96 yards rushing which resulted in 24 points. Moore had a 70% pass completion rate (21/30). As the Bears continue to improve this season, and with a strong defense, the game against North Springs could be win number three, but it can't be taken for granted.
