Coach Coulter graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in Social Studies and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in History. He is in his fifth year of coaching and teaching at Cambridge High School. He married his wife Sarah Coulter in the summer of 2017.  

Since taking over the Cross Country program both male and female teams have qualified for state each year and have earned a combined six podium finishes. Their top performances came as the Girls and Boys both earned 6A State Championships in the fall of 2017 along with a Girls Region 7 Title. Both Ashley Sechrest and Jack Filan won back to back individual region championships. The girls won the 6A State Championship in 2018. He also leads the Distance Track program which has seen nine runners qualify for state and had six finish on the State Podium including a State Runner Up.  

Coach Coulter was named Cambridge Male Head Coach of the Year 2016-2017. He also was named 6A Boys GACA State Head Coach of the Year in 2017.
