Coach Wood is probably my favorite race. Definitely not for the long drive all the way out to Whitesburg, but for the beautiful flat course that is located in the middle of the woods and on the banks of the Chattahoochee River. When this race has come earlier in the season you'd see teams jumping into the river to cool off after a fast race! It was a chilly morning so nobody was swimming, but the team saw a lot of fast times and had a great weekend of racing!
The Coach Wood Invitational was held Saturday, October 15th at the McIntosh Nature Preserve in Whitesburg. The girls JV team came in 17th out of 25 teams with a strong showing by Jensen Kelly, Kirsten Roush, Haven Jones, Annie Phelan and Annabelle Luffel. The boys JV team placed 15th out of 28 teams and saw a great effort by: Seth Odom, Maverick Gould, Philip Kittila, Thomas Leekly and Joshua Cheng.
The varsity girls team finished 22nd out of 30. Top five finishers were: Anna Filipek, Lauren Tindle, Logan Huddle, Emily Tebeau and Sanam Rangaraj. Last but not least the varsity boys took 27th place out of 30 teams with points scored by: Dillon Shin, Francisco Palacios-Rodriguez, Gray Peterson, Luis Fettes and Aidan Mchugh.
Another great weekend of racing! Look at these seasons-best performances!
