Lady Bears Volleyball Takes Osborne at Home Tues. Sept. 3rd

The Lady Bears took care of business on the home court Tuesday night September 3rd, trouncing Osborne and bringing total season match wins to 9.

A series of service aces from sophomores Madison Ulman (4) and Alex Wright (3) and freshmen Regan Swift (3) and Olivia Hansen (2) put points on the board for the Bears. The front line took care of business with a total of 18 kills led by Alex Wright and Olivia Hansen, both with 5.  Paige Clark and Lauren Swift were both credited with 4 digs, while junior Kiley Dempsey scooped up 3 key digs, limiting the opponent to a scant 23 points across both sets. Sophomore Alex Newcomer, coming off of an ankle injury that had sidelined her since the beginning of the season, made her presence known on the court with 7 assists.

Determination wasn't enough for the Bears to take Sequoyah, losing in two close sets 22-25, 21-25. Freshman Regan Swift led a non-stop defense to keep the match competitive, earning 14 digs with teammates Alex Wright (6), Eileen Hardy (5) and Madison Ulman (4) holding back Sequoyah points.

The Bears offense put points on the board with aggressive front row attacks. Freshman Lauren Swift had 7 kills, while Alex Wright posted 5 and sophomore Brenna Ediger with 3. Setter Olivia Hansen made 16 assists against Sequoyah alone.

Bears are at home again on Thursday night September 5th against North Forsyth and Duluth at 5p and 7p. Come out and support your Lady Bears!
