The Cambridge Volleyball Team is announcing a new fundraising effort of which everyone can participate.  This Monday, October 8, the team is launching "WE DIG SHOES", a partnership with Project Sole which is a non-profit 501(c)3 shoe charity that collects used athletic shoes as a way to provide a basic necessity for impoverished people and to raise funds for local schools and charities. The teams sees this as a great opportunity to not only contribute to the recycling movement but to provide a basic item to people in need. The shoes that are collected will then be sent to less fortunate people in areas of Ghana at the end of this year.  The team will earn money for each pair of lightly worn sneakers which are collected.

Please look around your home and for any old athletic shoes and drop them off at Cambridge High School collection bins that will be marked for the "We Dig Shoes" program. Collection bins will be located at CHS from October 8 through October 29. 

You can also help by by posting information on Facebook, reaching out to social networks, neighborhoods, workplace and spiritual communities. Let folks know they can drop off the shoes in the brightly marked bins that will be placed at CHS or one of our volunteers will pick up the shoes on a designated day and time. 

The goal is to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes.
