Jackson, Wardach lead Lady Bears over Dunwoody

The Varsity Bears Volleyball team knew they had a night of strong competition going up against two-time state champions, the Blessed Trinity Titans.  The Bears worked to get ahead in both matches but the Titans were too much for Cambridge.  They took the match in just two sets.

It was a different story for the Lady Bears as they took on Dunwoody High School in their second match of the night.  For Annie Jackson it was a game of aces.  The Junior Defensive Specialist served up a whopping ten aces, six in the first game and four in the second.  Senior Middle Blocker, Samantha Wardach led the team offensively, hitting .750 for the night while producing three aces.  Freshman Eileen Hardy stayed consistent and hit .250 for the match.  The Bears fought Dunwoody off with their defensive efforts.  The team had six digs in the first game and eleven digs in the second.  It was a positive end result for the match when the Bears won both games 25-15 and 25-19.

Cambridge heads into next week with a record of 4-15 taking on Northview and Riverwood at Northview.  Matches start at 5:30 and 6:30 on Tuesday September 18.
