Lady Bears Volleyball falls to Duluth, NFHS

Emotions were high as the Bears Volleyball team valiantly took on the Lady Wildcats of Duluth.  After an exhaustive effort, the Bears fell in two sets.  Freshman Eileen Hardy led the fight with four kills and two digs.  Despite the loss, passing was the best it has been all season with the team generating a cumulative average of 2.3.

It was a quick turnaround as the Bears regrouped to take on the host team of North Forsyth.  Freshman Alex Wright pushed points with two aces, three kills, and two digs.  Birthday girl, Haley Ackun, tacked on four digs to add to the effort.  Despite the hard work, the Lady Raiders of NFHS came out on top, taking both sets.

After the two matches Coach Wardach released a statement on the season thus far, "We are working hard and making improvements with every game. Our progress is consistent and we are continuously working to set the standard for Cambridge Volleyball. "

The Lady Bears are back in action on Saturday September 8th at Southern Volleyball Center where they will face fierce competition.  Cambridge will get a redemption match against Area opponent, Sequoyah in their first game at 9:00am.  The Bears will also take on South Whitfield in pool play.
