Milton, Georgia - DiVarsity announced their selections today for the 2021 Georgia High School Soccer Players of the Year and Georgia High School Soccer Coaches of the Year.
The 2021 Georgia High School Region 6A Girls Soccer Player of the Year for 2021 is the Lady Bears' own midfielder, Kate Leibel. Kate is a Junior at Cambridge and a 3-year starter on Varsity. This season, Kate has scored 7 goals while expertly managing the midfield. She has also created plays with 7 assists on the season. Her smart, athletic play on the field earned her being named to First Team All-Region this season. Kate is committed to the University of Arizona.
The 2021 Georgia High School Region 6A Girls Soccer Coach of the Year has been awarded to Cambridge's own Jesse Bitting. Coach Bitting has led the Lady Bears to a number 3 ranking in the state of Georgia and a number 18 ranking nationally for the 2021 season. Her strong leadership and brilliant coaching brought the Bears to a record of 13-3-3 overall and 6-1 in Region 6A. The Lady Bears are headed to the Elite 8 in the Georgia State Playoffs.
DiVarsity also announced, the Players and Coaches selected for the 2021 Georgia Soccer All Star Team. The Region 6A team is loaded with players from the Lady Bears Soccer Team. Please join us in congratulating Junior Goalkeeper Olivia Barfield; Junior Forward Ella Ciardullo; Sophomore Forward, Jordynn Dudley and Junior Midfielder Kate Leibel. Coach Jesse Bitting was also selected as Coach of the All-Star Team.
Olivia Barfield is a 3-year Varsity player. In 18 games played this season, she has 103 saves and only 14 goals against her. Barfield was named Honorable Mention All-Region for 2021.
Ella Ciardullo is a 2-year Varsity player with 22 goals and 9 assists this season. Ciardullo was named to Second Team All-Region for the 2021 season. Ella is committed to Virginia Tech.
Jordynn Dudley is a 2-year Varsity player who scored a team leading 29 goals and 10 assists this season. Jordynn was named First Team All-Region for 2021.
