Lady Bears Varsity Soccer Foils Alpharetta in Overtime, Tuesday, March 12th

Alpharetta, Ga. — It was an all-out battle in this week's match between the Cambridge Bears and the Alpharetta Raiders that led into overtime, Tuesday, March 12th.

The teams faced off in the first half with the Raiders scoring on a penalty kick putting them in the lead at half time 1-0. But the Bears answered back in the first four minutes of the second half with three shots on goal and continued to chip away at the Raiders' defense.

The Bears' Katelyn Byrne took an impressive corner kick that was headed in by Delaney Goodell to tie the game 1-1. Though Alpharetta had scoring opportunities in the second half with six shots on goal, they could not find the net, which led to overtime.

Thanks to an impressive shot by Kate Leibel with nine minutes to go in overtime, Cambridge won 2-1 over the Raiders.

The Bears, now 8-2, take home field against Pope (2-7) on Friday, March 15.

See you there!
