This week's High School Wrestler of the Week, Gavin Kane of Cambridge High School in Georgia, earns the honors after his championship in the 160 lb bracket at Georgia's Super 32 Early Entry Qualifier. Kane pinned his first two opponents, then pitched a 9-0 shutout in the semifinals. In the championship final with the score knotted at seven, late in the third period, Kane scored the winning takedown off of a reshot with 11 seconds left on the clock. Gavin's opponent Drew Eller of Evans, GA is a two-time state champion that has yet to have lost an official high school bout and was ranked fifth in the country at 160 lbs. Kane came into the weekend ranked 12th at 160 pounds nationally, as well. He is entering his junior year and is also a two-time Georgia state champion. Last season, the two met at the Buford Takedown Sportswear Invitational and Eller came out on top 16-9.
