The Cambridge Bears competed this past weekend, Feb. 8-10th at the Georgia State Wrestling tournament.
Sophomore Gavin Kane repeated as State Champion @ 152lbs, concluding a 46-2 season.
Freshman Kyle Romano finished 5th @ 126lbs, finishing a 46-13 season.
Two other freshmen made it to the 2nd day: Evan Kurtz @ 160lbs and Connor McHugh @ 170lbs. Other Bears fought hard including freshman Ben Werth @ 106lbs, junior Nick Owens @ 138lbs, junior Will Kurtz @ 182lbs, and sophomore Julian Petty @ 195lbs. Congratulations and the future is bright for this young team.
Also recognized was head coach Don St. James. He is being inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame for his lifetime contributions to the sport. Thanks for everything Coach!
