Wrestling USA Magazine, one of the country's foremost authorities on High school wrestling, has completed their first list of the "Nation's Best High School Sophomore and Freshmen Wrestlers" for 2017-2018.
Gavin Kane, a sophomore, finished Wrestling USA Magazines 2016-2017 final Freshmen and Sophomore rankings at #24 in the 145lb weight class after winning the Georgia 6A state championship and earning All-American status with a 5th place finish at the NHSCA Championships in Virginia Beach.
In Wrestling USA Magazines most recent rankings, Gavin has moved up to the #19 spot in the 152lb weight class. He will be attempting to repeat as a 6A state champion when he and seven of his teammates compete at the Macon Civic Center this Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 8-10.
