The Bears Varsity Wrestling team finished third in the Area Duals Friday & Saturday, January 8th-9th.
Area 7 has proven to be the toughest Area in the State and this year is no exception. Woodland took first followed by Cass in second place.
The Bears entered the tournament as a third seed Friday night as they took on Central Forsyth and handed them a decisive loss. In the next round the Bears faced second seed Cass and lost in a very close dual.
The Bears dropped into the backdraw and then faced Dalton which was a close dual and came down to a deciding victory by Nathan Kurtz. The Bears finally faced off against crosstown rival Creekview.
After a big win and momentum shifter by Dawson Brooks the Bears went on the beat Creekview and take third. Unfortunately this result will not allow them to move on the the State Duals.
Brandon Filosi, Will Britain and Nathan Kurtz all went undefeated.
The Bears take on Centennial this Wednesday January 13th at home and will be honoring our senior wrestlers.
