Region Championships for Sophomore JR Salemi (113 lbs), Freshman Brandon Filosi (138 lbs), and Senior Malik McNeil (285 lbs) were among the highlights as the Bears finished 3rd in this year's Region 7AAAAA Traditional Tournament held on February 1st-2nd and hosted by Creekview High School in Canton, GA.

"We performed well. Three Champs and four placers. For a first year program? That is extraordinary. These kids have been focused all year and have worked hard to get this opportunity. Proud? Yes. But we can't let up. We need to get ready for the State Tournament", says Coach St James.
The top 4 wrestlers from each of the Division AAAAA regions move on to Sectionals held February 8-9th at Loganville High School. From there, the top 8 wrestlers from both the East and West Sectionals will continue their journey to Macon, to compete for a GHSA State Championship.
Cambridge was well represented with 4 more Bears working their way through the consolation brackets in hopes of finishing up in the Top 4.
All 4 were victorious in their quest. They will join Salemi, Filosi and McNeil in this week's AAAAA East Sectional in Loganville. Those other sectional qualifiers are: senior Nick Salter (126 lbs.)- runner Up, sophomore Brock Nielson (170 lbs.)-runner Up, freshman Trey Wolfe (145 lbs.) 4th place, and freshman Chris Anderson (120 lbs.)- 4th place.
The Sectional Tournament takes place Friday & Saturday Feb. 8th-9th at Loganville HS.
