Track and Field Prepares for County Meet
CAMBRIDGE BEARS PREPARE FOR COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP MEET - MARCH 23

The Cambridge track and field team has been busy and working hard to attain their individual and team goals with two previous mid week meets and the Roswell Rotary Relays this past Saturday, March 16. A few of the highlights from those meets include:

North Georgia JV championship (Milton HS) - Rohan Lidhar set the school record in the triple jump.

Roswell Rotary Relays (Roswell HS) - Lilah Versluis (the defending 5A state champion in this event) raised her existing school record in the triple jump and took the state lead in 5A for high jump; the girls 4x200 meter relay finished third; and the boys 4x1600 meter relay finished second to the current state leader in this event.

Lassiter invite (Lassiter HS) - Taylor Lasoff won both the 100 and 200 meters (both in personal records); Kai McCarley finished second in the 100 meters and third in the 200 meters; Jensen Kelley raced to a third place finish in the 100 meters; Aman Mauze finished second in the high jump (personal record leap); Ibrahim Bangura won the 300 meter hurdles to take over the region lead; and Chris Isibor became the second Cambridge athlete to run under 11 seconds in the 100 meters.

In the last few weeks we also have been cheered on by the return of a number of former athletes (13 are currently competing in college). We wish them all well in their current outdoor season and particularly their academic endeavors this semester.

The track team prepares this week for the Fulton County championship on Saturday at Johns Creek High School, as our journey to state continues.
