Cambridge Track and Field Competes at Roswell Swarm Meet, Saturday, February 25th

On Saturday, February 25, the Cambridge track and field team went to Roswell High School to compete against eight other schools. It was a less than ideal weather day, but the athletes managed to set two school records and establish a number of personal records.

The girls had a productive day and achieved a number of top three finishes. The individual event medalists included:

Lilah Versluis (winning the high jump and setting a new school record; finishing second in the long jump; and third in the 100 meter hurdles);
Julia Versluis (winning the pole vault with a new outdoor personal record; finishing second in the high jump; and third in the 300 meter hurdles);
Gabrielle Dandridge (winning the 400 meter run and finishing third in the 200 meter run);
Anna Filipek (finishing third in the 1600 meter run) and
Amelia Martinez (finishing third in the long jump).

The 4x400 meter relay also ran a strong race and finished second.

The boys also had a solid day and were among the top three finishers. The individual medalists included:

Dominick Lawshea (recently named the milesplit performer of the week and won the 400 meters in a school record time);
Noah Bollenbacher (winning the pole vault and tying his personal record);
Ian Chaffin (finishing third in the 100 meter dash); and
Dillon Shin (winning the 300 meter hurdles).
Two relay teams also received medals: the 4x200 meter relay team finished third and the 4x400 meter relay team closed the meet by winning the event.

The team next travels to Centennial High School on Wednesday and prepares for the Milton Showcase (Milton High School) on Saturday against 17 teams.
