Cambridge Track and Field Athletes Stay Busy during the Summer
The Georgia High School Association regular track & field season ended last month with the state championship meet. However, Cambridge track & field athletes have remained busy so far this summer..with more to come. Here is a quick update on some of their activities around the track.

At the Meet of Champions held at Georgia Tech, Olivia Bollenbacher won the pole vault with a school record leap (which also was the eighth best female vault in Georgia history by a high  school athlete). She also was honored by the Atlanta Track Club as a member of the all Metro team. At the same meet, Gabrielle Dandridge finished a strong third in the 400 meters; Julia Versluis finished seventh in the high jump; and Lilah Versluis finished eighth in the high jump.

At the Adidas Outdoor Nationals held in Greensboro, North Carolina, Francisco Palacios-Rodriguez raced to a third place finish in the freshman two mile run; Gabrielle Dandridge finished 10th place nationally in the 400 meters; and Dominick Lawshea finished 16th nationally in the 400 meter hurdles.

At the USATF Georgia youth championships in McDonough, Jessica Hernandez finished sixth in the 800 meters and Dominick Lawshea finished fourth in the 400 meter hurdles. Rising freshman Cameron Parodi had a great meet by winning the long jump, finishing third in the 100 meters and sixth in the 200 meters. Each of these four athletes from this meet will advance to the USATF regional competition in South Carolina next month.
