Cambridge Track and Field Finishes Among Top Schools at State Championships, May 12-14th
The GHSA state track & field championships for the 56 schools that comprise 6A was held on May 12-14, 2022 at Carrollton High School. The Cambridge Bears were ready to roar and showcase to the state our talented athletes. For three days the team valiantly competed. When it all ended, the girls team finished fifth in the state (the second highest in school history) and the boys finished 13th (the most points scored and the highest finish in school history).
 
In addition, the school now has a new GHSA State Champion - Olivia Bollenbacher - in pole vault.
 
The other student athletes that scored at the state meet were:
 
Gabrielle Dandridge - (4th) 400 meters
Julia Versluis - (6th) high jump and (6th) pole vault
Jessica Hernandez - (7th) 800 meters
4x800 meter relay team - Emily Meeker/Logan Huddle/Jessica Hernandez/Faith Hirschi - (2nd)
 
Lyle Donovan - (6th) 800 meters and (7) 1600 meters
Eric Garguilo - (5th) pole vault
Noah Bollenbacher - (7th) pole vault
Carson Kent - (5th) shot put (school record)
4x800 meter relay team - George Tindle/Braden Hobbs/Mattson Peterson/Lyle Donovan - (3rd in a school record time).
