Bears Track & Field Triumphant in Home Dual Meet; Olivia Bollenbacher Named 6A Pole Vaulter of the Month

On Wednesday, March 3, the Cambridge Track & Field  team held a dual meet at home against Forsyth Central. Times continued to fall and distances increased, resulting in a victorious evening and numerous personal records being established by the Cambridge athletes.  Among the highlights of the meet were:

Sarah Meredith won the discus (personal record) as she moved closer to the school record in that event.  She also took first in the 100 meter hurdles (personal record) and the 300 meter hurdles. 

Kaine Dudley won the 200 meters (personal record) and is within striking distance of that school record. 

Both the girls and boys 4x100 meter relay teams ran their season best times. 

In addition, Cameron Phillips won the shot put (personal record);

Brody Barash won the triple jump (personal record);

Gabrielle Dandridge won the 200 meters (personal record);

Nia Walker won the long jump and the 400 meters (both personal records);

Lyle Donovan won the 3200 meters;

Aracely Regnier won the 100 meters for the girls;

Kendal Quarles won the 100 meters (personal record) for the boys;

Alex Mecklenborg won the 1600 meters; and

Mattson Peterson won the 400 meters.

In other track and field news around the state, Olivia Bollenbacher was named by Georgia Milesplit as the 6A Pole Vaulter of the month for February 2021. Congratulations!
