Girls Win the Lakeside Invitational, Boys Take Third 

On Friday and Saturday, the Cambridge swim and dive team traveled to Chamblee High School to participate in the Lakeside Invitational. Out of the 10 schools attending, the Bears took first for the girls team and third for the boys team. The team took second place in combined team score.

On Friday, Brooklyn Petit competed in the dive portion of the meet. Petit scored 537.90 points to win the event. This is very close to her highest score of 555.55, which holds the school record. The second place diver scored 331.40, which shows how solid Petit was in her performance. For multiple dives, the judges awarded Petit score of 9. 

In the swim portion of the meet on Saturday, the boys A-medley relay (Cale Coleman, Zach Andersen, Gavin Schoeling, Jax Jackson) took third with a state qualifying time of 1:48.13, which was also their fastest time this season for their relay. This improves their existing state qualifying time. The B-relay (Tate Robertson, Aneesh Ayyagari, Maor Bigio, Bryson Mynatt) took tenth. 

For the girls, the A-relay (Ana-Clare Grann, Alana Drevet, Audrey Lampa, Molly Thompson) took fifth. The B-relay (Alexis Walkenhorst, Hayden Whalen, Gabby Edwards, Christine McVicker) took 14th. 

In the boys 200-freestyle, Oscar Ryzhkov took third with a new best time of 1:56.54, just off the state qualifying time. Gavin Schoeling finished right behind him in fourth, Elijah Edison took 10th, Tate Robertson finished in 12th with a new best time, Bryson Mynatt took 13th with a new best time, and Shane Merille took 17th place. 

For the girls, Kate Kerber won the event with a state time of 2:00.59. Hayden Whalen took 10th, and Gabby Edwards took 18th.

For the boys 200-individual medley, John Murphy took fifth and Aneesh Ayyagari took 11th. 

For the girls 200-individual medley, Caroline Gaines won the event with a state qualifying time of 2:19.73. 

In the boys 50-freestyle, Zach Andersen took ninth place, Jax Jackson took seventh, and Raj Malik took 27th. 

In the girls event, Audrey Lampa dropped a ton of time to finish in fourth overall and miss the state cut by three-tenths of a second. Molly Thompson finished in 10th, and Christine McVicker took 37th. 

In the boys 100-butterfly, Maor Bigio took fifth. 

For the girls, Audrey Lampa won the event with a new best time of 1:06.46, which is 1.5 seconds off the state qualifying time. Alana Drevet took sixth, Ana-Clare Grann took eighth with a new best time. 

In the boys 100-freestyle, Cale Coleman took second place, Yan Berezitsky took fifth, Aneesh Ayyagari took 15th, Pranav Kolathaya took 20th. 

In the girls event, Abby Harber took seventh, Alexis Walkenhorst took 12th with a new best time, and Gabby Edwards took 27th. 

In the boys 500-freestyle, Zach Andersen took sixth, Maor Bigio took eighth, and Tate Robertson took ninth. 

For the girls, Molly Thompson took third. 

In the boys 200-freestyle relay, the A-relay (Jax Jackson, Yan Berezitsky, Gavin Schoeling, Cale Coleman) took second with a new best state qualifying time of 1:37.10. The B-relay (John Murphy, Bryson Mynatt, Elijah Edison, Oscar Ryzhkov) took third and only trailed the A-relay by three-seconds. The C-relay (Tate Robertson, Shane Merille, Raj Malik, Pranav Kolathaya) took 13th. 

For the girls, the A-relay (Jennifer Griner, Caroline Gaines, Abby Harber, Kate Kerber) won the event with a state qualifying time of 1:47.57. Griner swam a state qualifying time in the 50-free leadoff leg of 26.30. The B-relay (Alana Drevet, Molly Thompson, Alexis Walkenhorst, Ana-Clare Grann) took seventh. 

In the boys 100-backstroke, Cale Coleman took second with a new state qualifying time of 58.83. Oscar Ryzhkov finished right behind Coleman in third with a new best time and just a tenth of a second off the state qualifying time. Jax Jackson took fifth with a new best time, Gavin Schoeling took sixth , Elijah Edison won his heat and took eighth overall, Raj Malik took 16th with a new best time, and Shane Merille took 24th. 

In the girls 100-backstroke, Jennifer Griner won the event with a new state qualifying time of 1:02.70. Alana Drevet finished in sixth, Abby Harber took seventh, Ana-Clare Grann took eighth, Alexis Walkenhorst took 10th, and Christine McVicker took 23rd with a new best time. 

In the boys 100-breaststroke, Yan Berezitsky took fifth, John Murphy took 12th, Bryson Mynatt took 18th with a new best time, and Pranav Kolathaya took 19th. 

For the girls, Caroline Gaines won the event with a state time of 1:13.47, followed by Kate Kerber in second with a state qualifying time, and Jennifer Griner in fourth. Hayden Whalen took 16th with a new best time. 

In the final event of the night, the boys 400-freestyle A-relay (Yan Berezitsky, Zach Andersen, Oscar Ryzhkov, John Murphy) took fourth with a state qualifying time of 3:40.11. The B-relay (Elijah Edison, Bryson Mynatt, Maor Bigio, Tate Robertson) took sixth, and the C-relay (Pranav Kolathaya, Raj Malik, Shane Merille, Aneesh Ayyagari) took 10th. 

For the girls, the A-relay (Jennifer Griner, Abby Harber, Caroline Gaines, Kate Kerber) won the event with Griner making her third state qualifying event of the night with the leadoff 100-freestyle in a time of 55.96. The B-relay (Ana-Clare Grann, Audrey Lampa, Alexis Walkenhorst, Hayden Whalen) took fifth. 

The Bears will travel to Marist on Friday and Saturday for the Madeleine Jude Brown Meet of Champions. Diving will be on Friday evening at 4 PM and swim will  be on Saturday morning at 9 AM. Come and cheer on your Bears!
