Cambridge Girls Softball Defeats Chattahoochee 5-3, Tuesday, August 16th
The Lady Bears Varsity softball team nabbed the lead late in the game in a 5-3 victory over Chattahoochee on Tuesday, August 16th.  The game was tied at three with the Bears batting in the top of the seventh when Mason McDermott's sac fly scored one run to take the lead.
 
Cambridge got on the board in the first inning when McDermott singled on a 2-2 count, scoring a run.
 
In the bottom of the fifth inning, Chattahoochee tied things up at three.
 
After the Bears scored one run in the top of the third, Chattahoochee answered with one of their own. The Bears then scored when McDermott hit a solo homer.
 
Grace Barrett was credited with the victory. The righthander allowed seven hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking one.
  
The Bears racked up 12 hits on the day.  Barrett, McDermott, and Kate Gordon each had 2 hits in the game. The Bears played solid defense with no errors. Amari Givers had the most chances in the field with six.
