Lady Bears Varsity Softball Clinches Lead in Third Inning for Victory Over Alpharetta, Thursday, Aug. 11th
The Lady Bears softball team ran off with the lead late in the game in a 15-3 victory over Alpharetta on Thursday, August 11th. The game was tied at two in the top of the third when Grace Barrett doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs. 
 
Jessica Chan led the Bears to victory by driving in five runs and going 2-for-3 at the plate. Chan drove in runs on a groundout in the first and a walk in the third.
 
The Bears opened up scoring in the first inning, when Chan grounded out, scoring two runs.
 
Alpharetta knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning, scoring one run on a groundout.
 
Jessica Chan also pitched Cambridge to victory. She allowed two hits and three runs over four innings, striking out two.
 
The Bears saw the ball well today, racking up 14 hits in the game. Anna Hardee, Grace Barrett, Abby Pavlovich, and Jessica Chan each managed multiple hits. Hardee went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. The Bears stole nine bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Barrett led the way with two. The Bears were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Amari Givers had the most chances in the field with six.
