Cambridge Softball Teams Sweep Roswell, Wednesday, September 1st

On Wednesday, September 1st, both softball teams were victorious over crosstown rival Roswell.

The JV team defeated Roswell 13-1. The Bears were led by Sophia Gmahle, Anna Setterlind, Kate Gordon, and Mackenzie Schoeneck who all had multiple hits. The Bears tallied 13 runs on 13 hits. Jessica Chan started on the mound and struck out 2 in 2 innings. Jayda Braithwaite played great defense all night! The JV Bears have now won 2 in a row.
 
The Varsity team made similar work winning 10-4 over Roswell. Many Bears made offensive contributions to the effort. Livi Payne had a 2 run homerun in a key 3 run 4th inning. Mason McDermott and Grace Barrett combined 5 hits and 5 RBIs. Bella Gaetano had a balanced attack offensively and defensively. She got the save throwing 4 scoreless innings while have clutch at bats. Amari Givers added a standup triple in the 2nd inning.
 
The Bears head back home on Thursday, Sept. 2nd for a region matchup vs. Centennial. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30, but there will be a pregame ceremony recognizing the Cambridge Softball feeder program.
