The Cambridge Varsity softball team defeated Chattahoochee in 5 innings 11-3 during region play, Thursday, August 26th. The Lady Bears combined for 15 hits in the win. They move to 2-2 in the region with games against Johns Creek (Tuesday, 8/31) and Centennial (Thursday, 9/2) next week.
Junior Grace Barrett got the win in the circle while also going a perfect 4 for 4 at the plate with 2 RBIs. Senior Livi Payne played stellar defense at 3rd and also added 3 hits and 3 RBIs. 8 different Bears recorded a hit. The Bears return home on Monday August 30th for a rematch against non-region Denmark.
The JV Lady Bears made it a sweep on Thursday when they defeated Sequoyah 6-5. Junior Jayda Braithwaite gets the win on the mound helped with great defense from Freshman Abby Pavlovich.
Freshman Annie Kimball followed up her great play from Wednesday with some great bunts and Sophomore Grace Dunn added a triple. JV gets their 1st win of the season.
