Lady Bears JV Softball Defeats Pope, Tuesday, August 27th

Cambridge Bears JV softball took home a 6-2 victory over Pope on Tuesday, August 27th.

The Lady Bears fired up the offense in the first inning. Serenity Henry singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The Bears scored three runs in the second inning. Savanna DePriest and Grace Barrett all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Barrett was the winning pitcher for Cambridge. She lasted three innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out six. Jayda Braithwaite threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

The Pope pitchers allowed twelve hits and six runs, while striking out five.

The Bears offense racked up 12 hits in the game. Amari Givers, Braithwaite, Barrett, and Henry all managed multiple hits for Cambridge. Givers went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the offense. 

The Bears were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Delaney Boehmer had the most chances in the field with seven.
