Lady Bears Softball Shuts Out North Atlanta on Senior Night, Monday, Sept. 23rd

With help from Lauren Cooper, the Cambridge seniors led their team to an 8-0 victory over North Atlanta on Monday night, September 23rd. Cooper shut down the Warriors, throwing a complete game shutout.

The Bears opened up scoring in the first inning on a double by Nikki Tanguay. senior Liz Seymour brought in two more runs with a single.

Jesse Smith opened the second inning with a hit and scored on a triple by Livi Payne. Senior Chooch Carroll kicked off the 3rd inning with a double, but the Bears were not able to get a run across the plate.

Cambridge scored three runs in the fourth inning. A triple by senior Ariel Birnbaum was the first hit of the inning and was followed by hits from Tanguay Seymour, Cooper, and Sydney Granby. Payne, Seymour, and Granby each had RBI's in the big inning.

Cooper was credited with the victory for the Bears. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.

Cambridge saw the ball well, racking up 12 hits in the game. Tanguay, Seymour, and Payne all managed multiple hits for Cambridge. Tanguay went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits, and Seymour brought in the most RBI's with 3.
