Bears Varsity Softball Rallies for Win over Pope, Thursday, August 22nd

Cambridge Bears Varsity softball took the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Pope on Thursday, August 22nd. Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Chooch Carroll homered on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs and giving the Bears the lead.

Pope got things moving in the second inning with a solo homer.

Lauren Cooper took the win for the Bears by only allowing nine hits and three runs over seven innings.

The Pope pitcher surrendered four runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out six and walking one.

The Lady Bears saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game. Nikki Tanguay and Livi Payne all had multiple hits for Cambridge. Tanguay went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the offense in hits. The Bears were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Liz Seymour made the most plays with 12.
