The Lady Bears Varsity softball team pitched a combined no-hitter, as the Bears defeated Northview 16-0 on Tuesday September 18th.
The Bears got things started in the first inning when Nikki Tanguay singled on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs. Jessie Smith earned the win for the Bears. She allowed no hits and no runs over two innings, walking none. Sydney Herbold threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen with 3 strike-outs and no hits.
The Bears collected 16 hits. Audrey Smith, Luci Allen, Ariel Birnbaum, Lauren Cooper, Nikki Tanguay, and Haley Brown all managed multiple hits. Luci Allen and Audrey Smith all had three hits to lead. Ariel Birnbaum, Nikki Tanguay, and Audrey Smith led the team in RBIs with 3 each. The defense didn't commit a single error in the field. Allen had the most chances in the field with three.
The Lady Bears are now 8-4 in their division with the next game Senior Night, Thursday September 20th at 5:00 against Centennial and next week completing the regular season with games 9/25 and 9/27.
