Bears Boys Varsity Soccer Defeats Roswell, 5-1, Thursday, February 11th

Cambridge vs Roswell Match:

Match day 4 for our Cambridge Bears did not disappoint. In the pouring rain, Thursday, February 11th, our Bears squared up against the Roswell Hornets for a crosstown grudge match.

Senior Carter Johnson would find the net first for the Bears as he capitalized off of some beautiful link up play.

TrustWorkz Man Of The Match, Haris Osmanbasic, would soon follow up with his own finish as the Bears took a 2-0 lead.

Just before the halftime whistle, Johnson bagged his second goal, putting the Bears up 3-0, and earning The Number 9 a brace on the night.

Other first half stand out performances came from Captain Daniel Bojcic in goal and and central midfielder Pablo Romero. Bojcic kept the Bears clean sheet going in to the half while Romeo's physical presence and crunching tackles inspired energy.

In the second half the Bears continued to storm as Osmanbasic finished a right side cross with a towering and powerful header. The TrustWorkz Man Of The Match would finish off the scoring for the Bears converting a breakaway, earning Osmanbasic a hat trick, and the Bears their 5th goal on the night.

After the match, Senior Erik Holmen said this, "I thought our result reflected the performance and our intensity won us the match."

Regarding the TrustWorkz Man Of The Match, Holmen said this "I think Haris has been doing well all season. It was a team effort to help him with his hat trick tonight. We were able to get him on the ball a lot more in this game. When Haris gets on the ball good things happen."

Final score, Cambridge Bears 5, Roswell Hornets 1.
