Boys Soccer Advances to Elite 8 for 4th Straight Year with 7-1 Win over Dacula, Thursday, May 2nd

Thursday, May 2nd – The seniors played their last home match at Cambridge and came out focused and ready to compete in great team effort on both sides of the ball. 

The Bears controlled possession from the start of the match and scored 5 minutes in when Omar found the back of the net from a pass from Christian; Cambridge 1-0.  Then at the 23rd minute mark Trey headed the ball back across the goal (left to right) for Cambridge's second goal off a corner from Ethan.  Then in the 15th minute Christian scored a PK from a "hand ball in the box" call; Cambridge 3-0. 

At the 5th minute Cambridge netted its 4th goal of the half when Omar found Lucas in front of the net and passed the ball in; Cambridge 4-0.  At the 4 minute mark Cambridge scored its 5th goal of the half off a PK (2nd hand ball in the box) from Harrison and the first half ended Cambridge 5-0. 

The second half open with a few minutes of back and forth play and then Cambridge took control, at the 15 minute mark Jack's cross found Omar's head for a goal and Omar's brace; Cambridge 6-0.  At the 9 minute mark Nico found the back of the net on a banger; Cambridge 7-0.  In the final 4 minutes Cambridge was called for a "hand ball in the box" which gave Dacula a PK, which they converted; Cambridge 7-1, that is how the match ended. 

With the result the Bears advanced to the Elite 8 for the 4th year in a row.  Cambridge will travel next to play a match on Wednesday, May 8th against Lakeside, Evans in Augusta.
