Bears Boys Varsity Soccer Shuts Out 5A #8 Clarkston 3-0, Thursday, April 11th

Thursday, April 11th - The Bears Boys Soccer team traveled to Clarkston to play the 8th ranked team in 5A, Clarkston a prolific scoring machine, with a positive goal deferential of 53 entering the match (goals for 69 and goals against 16).

After a disappointing result in the match on Monday, the Bears came out with focus, energy and a ton of effort.  The Bears controlled the match against a very athletic and assertive squad from Clarkston and opened the scoring at the 24:50 mark of the 1sthalf when Lukas Pegorer scored off an assist from Ansley Shah; Cambridge 1-0.

The 2nd half opened with Ansley Shah finding the back of the net off an assist from Christian Guzman at the 32:47 mark; Cambridge 2-0.

Then at the 12:53 mark in the 2nd half Ansley Shah scored his second goal, for a brace, off an assist from Jeffrey Rael; Cambridge 3-0, which is how the match ended.

A big shout out to our Defense, as Clarkston had averaged 5 goals a match this season until they faced the Bears' defense - first time Clarkston was shut out this year.   Well done Boys!

Next up the Bears host their final regular and region match against Dunwoody.  The match is important because final standings in the Region 7 will be decided and seedings for the State Soccer Playoffs determined.

Go Bears!
