Cambridge Boys Soccer Drop Region Match to Nationally Ranked Pope, Friday, March 15th

The Boys Varsity Soccer team hosted nationally ranked and undefeated in Region 7 play Pope High School, Friday, March 15th.  Pope came into the match atop Region 7 and potentially one of the toughest squads on paper for the Bear's play year to date.

Pope lived up to their press clipping giving the Bears all they could handle throughout the match and finding the back of the net late in the first half at the 9:08 mark, Pope 1-0.

Pope opened the second half fast, found an opening and scored at the 36:45 mark, Pope 2-0.  The Bears held off Pope for the balance of the match and then at the 15:00 mark Cambridge adjusted its lineup and moved some players around, then at the 9:18 mark Jack Gaertner crossed the ball to the back post and Ethan Rose took the ball out of the air and volleyed it into the net, Pope 2-1.

For the balance of the match Cambridge pressured Pope's back line which bent but did not break..Final score..Pope 2-1.

Next for the Bears is tough and nationally ranked Northview away on Tuesday, March 19th.
