The Cambridge boys soccer team rolled to a 8-0 win on Tuesday night, April 11th over the Fellowship Christian Paladins, winning a program history best 5th game in a row.  It was Senior Night for the Paladins, however, it was the Bears underclassman who stole the show on a beautiful night for soccer. 

Junior John Crawley proved to have the magic touch on the night leading the Bears with a hat trick, scoring 3 goals. Two of John's three goals came in the first half with assists from freshman Austin Carranza and junior Jarvin Ramirez.  

The Bears were leading 2-0 with 3 minutes left in the half but then were the recipient of an own goal.  Freshman Reece Degan had a sweet assist to freshman Austin Carranza who scored to give the Bears a 4-0 lead going into the half. 

Just 10 minutes into the 2nd half, Josh Winnett led things off for the Bears with a beautiful touch and ripped one into the lower 90 to give the Bears a 5-0 lead.  It was Winnett's 6th goal on the season.  Sophomore Jabar Obeid got in on the assist action when he sent a pure through ball to John Crawley who then blew the socks off the Palladin defenders, outran them into to the box and sent his shot past the goalie for his 3rd goal on the night to make it 6-0 Bears.  Jarvin Ramirez then collected his 2nd assist in the night feeding Carson Densmore who sent his shot screaming past their goalie for the Bears 7th goal on the night.

Ramirez, in his first varsity action of the year, ended the scoring on the night executing a perfect Rabona for his first varsity goal of his career in a Bear uniform. 

A humbled yet very excited Crawley said, "the forwards made nice runs in behind and the possessions helped build up to the striker along with the nice through balls led us to score."

Coach Wallace added "FC is a quality opponent and sometimes things just go your way. I thought this was good and we really challenged them to take this momentum into our next game because North Atlanta is kind of a culmination of our season."

The Bears take on North Atlanta Friday night, April 14th, which is Senior Night. The team will be celebrating 6 seniors in their 2nd to last home game of their soccer career.  Come out to support and watch some of the states best soccer being played here at Cambridge HS.  

Senior night festivities begin at 7:30 followed by the boys game at 8:00pm.
