Bears Varsity Soccer Rolls into Spring Break with 4-0 Win at Northview, Tuesday, March 28th

It was senior night at the Titans stadium; however it was the Bears that were celebrating when the final whistle blew with a 4-0 Bears win on Tuesday, March 28th.

John Crawley accounted for half of the Bears scoring on the night, as he scored 2 goals and had 1 assist.  With just 11 minutes into the game, Jabar Obeid got the Bears on the board first with a nice assist from Crawley.  Crawley knifed his way through 3 Titan defenders to find Obeid in the box, who put the ball in the back of the net.

After the game Crawley said  "Jabar is my inspiration.  I was excited to get him the ball for the score."  Crawley then went to work in the 2nd half scoring 2 goals of his own.  Trey Rielly capped off the scoring late in the second half when he reached back and untied one to show the Titans what he had. This was Rielly's first varsity goal of his career.

Coach Wallace said, "I told the guys over the last 3 weeks since our backs are up against the wall, and have reminded them in the locker room everyday, that this game isn't one we can afford to give away.  The Bears were obviously up to the challenge and responded with the Win."

Wallace went on to say " It's the last game before spring break, there's a lot of distractions.  We were missing a couple of guys and the fact that we came out and worked through some tough moments as Northview was a pretty good team, was impressive and I'm really proud of their work tonight and over the past 2-3 weeks."

This was the Bears 4th win in a row.  In the history of the program, this has only happened one other time, in 2015. The Bears have only given up 2 goals during this 4 game streak, which is a big testament to the defense and goalie play by Mitch Hardgrove and Nic Sides.

The Bears will return to action on April 11th when they complete a long run of games on the road at Fellowship Christian, who is ranked 5th in the state in Class A.

Through their great play over the last 2 weeks, the Bears have been escalated to 6th in the state rankings going into Spring Break.

Go Bears!
